Sami Culture - Yesterday and Today.

This course offers an interdisciplinary look at the culture of Sami (Lapp) people, past and prsent. The course explores indigenous modes of expression and worldview as well as contemporary cultural and political activism. Extensive discussion of connections to Native American and Inuit experiences and the rise of indigenous people's movements in the USA and elsewhere. Course satisfies Ethnic Studies requirement.
